Layer-1 Blockchain Overtakes Decentraland in Gaming

Top Crypto Gaming Project Surpasses Decentraland in Development Activity

A recent report from analytics platform Santiment reveals that the layer-1 blockchain MultiversX (EGLD), formerly known as Elrond, has surpassed the Ethereum-based virtual reality platform Decentraland (MANA) as the top crypto gaming project in terms of development activity. MultiversX registered 236.93 notable GitHub events, significantly more than Decentraland’s 150.4 events. Other projects also noted for development activity include the NFT layer-2 scaling solution Immutable X (IMX) with 77.4 events and the Ethereum sidechain Skale Network (SKL) with 42.6 events.
Santiment emphasizes that their data collection methodology for GitHub events excludes routine updates and follows a backtested process. The firm believes that high development activity indicates developer confidence in the project’s success and reduces the likelihood of it being an exit scam. MultiversX, a decentralized proof-of-stake blockchain network with over 3,000 nodes, aims to support the creation of next-generation applications. Despite the positive development activity, the project’s native token EGLD is trading at $35.98, down over 7.5% in the last 24 hours and more than 10% over the past month.
