Arthur Hayes’ Maelstrom Fund Launches Ambitious Bitcoin Grant Program
Arthur Hayes’ Maelstrom fund has launched the Maelstrom Bitcoin Grant Program, offering up to $250,000 in grants to Bitcoin developers. This initiative aims to support the technical growth of Bitcoin, focusing on resilience, scalability, censorship resistance, and privacy. Grants range from $50,000 to $150,000 annually, with the possibility of combining grants up to $250,000 per developer. Applications are due by August 25, 2024, and grants will be disbursed in BTC, USDC, or USDT over a 12-month period. The program also aims to foster innovation in Bitcoin-native decentralized finance (BTCFi) and protocols like Runes, which expand Bitcoin’s functionality beyond its original use as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. This move highlights Maelstrom’s commitment to supporting open-source Bitcoin development and decentralized technologies.
