Solana Foundation Unveils New Tools for Web3 Integration
The Solana Foundation has introduced two new tools, “Actions” and “Blockchain Links” (Blinks), to ease the integration of Web3 capabilities into mainstream platforms. Actions facilitate Web3-native transactions such as asset transfers, NFT interactions, voting, betting, and tipping content creators. Blinks allow developers to turn any Action into a shareable link, making websites and social media platforms practical entry points for blockchain interactions.
Additionally, Solana’s ecosystem is advancing with ZK Compression, a cost-saving solution using zero-knowledge proofs to reduce transaction costs by minimizing on-chain data. Mert Mumtaz of Helius Labs estimates it could cut the cost of airdropping tokens to one million users from $260,000 to $50.
Despite some criticism from the Ethereum community viewing it as a Layer 2 solution, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko emphasized that ZK Compression addresses issues typical of Ethereum-based L2 solutions while ensuring validators receive transaction fees.
On the market front, Solana’s token (SOL) saw a temporary dip to $122 but has since rebounded by 9% to $138. Analysts suggest that surpassing resistance levels at $150, $162, $174, and $186 could help SOL reach the significant milestone of $200, contingent on sustained positive momentum and ecosystem developments.
